CrossFit Kids is meant to be BIG fun for all ages. Broad-Inclusive-General fun. Fun means we provide an active alternative to sedentary pursuits, which means less childhood obesity and all-around better health for our children. Further, the needs of second graders and high-school varsity wrestlers differ by degree and not kind; the program is scalable for any age or experience level and accounts for the varied maturation status one can find in a class full of kids. CrossFit Kids is designed to be minimalist; it is inexpensive and often requires little or no equipment, allowing a wide array of socioeconomic groups an opportunity to be physically fit and physically active throughout their lives.

KIDS – Ages 5-11 children will learn basic and intermediate CrossFit movements. CrossFit Kids begin by starting kids workouts with no weights and then slowly introducing weighted movements into the workouts. This class is designed to be a 30-minute class that begins with a warm up. After the warm up the class will work on specific skills under the supervision of the coaches. The skill work is followed by a workout that uses movements learned in class. The class wraps up with a game played at the end.

TEENS – Ages 12-15 will use weights in many of the workouts. The use of weight is closely monitored by the trained coaches as CrossFit Hud. This class is designed to be a 1 hour that begins with a thorough warm up. After the warm up the class will work on a particular skill. After the skill work, the teens will engage in a 10-15 minute workout. After the workout, additional skill work is performed.

Please note: that it is not the age of your child that is the deciding factor for what class he or she attends. It is largely based upon individual skill, athleticism, and maturity. It is ultimately decided upon by the head coach to ensure your child is getting the most out of the CrossFit Kids experience. Changes can be made after a package is purchased – sometimes it takes a class or two for the parent, child, and/or coach to figure out which class a child should be in.
